Schnoodles

Our Schnoodles are a cross between a Miniature Schnauzer and a Toy Poodle. As each parent is a purebred, theoffspring produced are First Generation Schnoodles (F1).

Schnoodles have become increasing popular over the past 10 years but were first cross bred in 1980’s. Schnoodles are a family friendly dog that have a lot of love and affection to give. They are very loyal to their family and can at times be cautious of new people, making them excellent little guard dogs. They are energetic, playful and adorable. They can adapt to small homes and apartments where adequate daily exercise can be given. They are intelligent dogs, quick learners and thrive with regular training. Treats and a lot of praise goes a long way.

As dad is a Toy Poodle (non-shedding breed) all offspring are considered low to non-shedding making them hypoallergenic and coats Soft and wavy. So, a positive of this, is that there will be little to no hair floating around your home! But this does mean they will need to be groomed regularly. How regular is totally up to you and how long you like their coats. Some may clip every Summer, while others prefer every season and some even more frequent like every 6-8 weeks. As long as you keep up with the brushing of their coats, all options are fine.

Schnoodle colours vary also. Love My Oodle have produced the following colours: Black, Black/White, Black/Tan, Black/Silver and Brindle.

Size can vary between 6kg-12kg and 35-40cm back height. However, this could vary depending on the size of the parents and the general health and lifestyle of the dog. Being a cross breed, there is no guarantee of size and weight of fully mature Schnoodles. Life expectancy is 10-18 years.
